But what exactly is a digital asset and how is it different from a cryptocurrency?<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What is a digital asset?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A digital asset refers to an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/terms\/i\/intangibleasset.asp\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">intangible asset<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (or resource) with financial value that is expected to increase in the future. This happens after they achieve a certain appreciation in value. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cryptocurrencies, on the other hand, have many more functions and utilities. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of course, valuable cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin are often seen as an asset, but others like Ethereum (ETH), Binance coin (BNB) and Ripple (XRP) are primarily meant to act as exchangeable currencies that act as fuel for a blockchain network.
