RSA algorithm explained<\/span><\/h2>\n

The RSA algorithm is an <\/span>asymmetric cryptographic<\/span><\/a> system, which enables public-key encryption and is widely used to secure sensitive data. It is particularly useful for sending information over an insecure network such as the internet.<\/span><\/p>\n

The algorithm was first published in the 1970s by Ron <\/span>R<\/b>ivest, Adi <\/span>S<\/b>hamir, and Leonard <\/span>A<\/b>dleman (hence RSA).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How does the RSA algorithm work?<\/span><\/h2>\n

RSA generates two different mathematically linked keys – one public and one private. The public key can be shared with everyone, whereas the private key must be kept secret.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Why? Well, only the private key can be used to decrypt the message or data that has been encrypted<\/a> through the public key.<\/span><\/p>\n
