Flashbots is an initiative aimed at reducing the negative consequences of Miner Extractable Value (MEV). MEV refers to the earnings miners get by controlling transaction ordering within blocks. Flashbots promote fair MEV extraction and seek to reduce unethical practices such as front running that can result in higher gas fees and poor user experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>How Flashbots Work?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In order to have a more directed and just process for transaction ordering, Flashbots establish a specific communication channel between miners and traders. How does this happen?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Bundle submissions: Through the use of the Flashbots\u2019 system, traders send transaction bundles directly to miners. These contain multiple transactions that should be executed in a specific order.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Private transactions: These transactions are not visible before they are included in blocks, so other traders cannot view them or front-run them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Auction mechanism: Miners<\/a> have an opportunity to include profitable bundles in their blocks through an auction mechanism employed by Flashbots themselves.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Transparency and fairness: By giving a predictable and honest approach via which transactions may be submitted or ordered, Flashbots are able to mitigate the negative externalities of MEV such as increased gas fees as well as biased transaction sequencing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Open research and development: Flashbots is an open research initiative that aims to foster collaboration and innovation among blockchain community members to make the process of extracting MEV even better.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
