This is where oracles come in. Oracles work by acting as a bridge between blockchains and real-world data. For example, a smart contract<\/a> for crop insurance can be programmed to pay farmers if rainfall drops below a certain level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since blockchains cannot access weather data directly, the oracle provides this information from a trusted source, allowing the contract to automatically trigger the payout when conditions are met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
