Unlike stock markets, which are tied to specific exchanges, forex is decentralized. This means trading happens directly between participants through a global network of banks, brokers, and electronic platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether you\u2019re traveling abroad, a multinational company paying overseas suppliers, or an investor speculating on exchange rates, you are participating in forex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"post-8257-_yqrrj5r37ib3\"><\/a>How Forex Trading Works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In forex, currencies are traded in pairs, such as EUR\/USD (euro vs. U.S. dollar) or GBP\/JPY (British pound vs. Japanese yen). The first currency in the pair is the \u201cbase currency,\u201d and the second is the \u201cquote currency.\u201d The price shows how much of the quote currency is needed to buy one unit of the base currency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, if EUR\/USD is 1.10, it means one euro equals 1.10 U.S. dollars. Traders make profits (or losses) by speculating on whether a currency will strengthen or weaken against another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"post-8257-_2lfhu1kayyh9\"><\/a>Forex vs. Crypto<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Forex and crypto trading share similarities, both run 24\/7 markets with global participation.
