Swaps and sales close. The USDT deposit address is removed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>8 January 2027:<\/strong> The three months in the ESMA Opinion end. Withdrawals of USDT to an external wallet stay available.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why is this happening?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Under the EU&#8217;s crypto rules, stablecoins offered in the EEA must come from an issuer authorised in the EU. USDC&#8217;s issuer is authorised. USDT&#8217;s issuer is not authorised under these rules.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rules are called the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). On 8 October 2026, ESMA published an Opinion expecting these changes within three months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Paybis holds a MiCA crypto-asset service provider (CASP) authorisation from the Bank of Latvia. We apply the change across the EEA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What can you do with your USDT before 15 November?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Until 15 November 2026, you have three options for your USDT. You can swap it to USDC or another coin. You can also sell it or withdraw it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Swap<\/strong> your USDT to USDC or any other coin we list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sell<\/strong> your USDT.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Withdraw<\/strong> your USDT to an external wallet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you want to keep holding a stablecoin, choose USDC. USDC is a US dollar stablecoin. Its issuer is authorised under MiCA, and USDC is available on Paybis in the EEA.
