War in Ukraine: how can the crypto community help?

In the 21st century, we often seem to take security, democracy, and public safety for granted. But we shouldn’t. There are still real threats to peaceful life – even here in Europe. Paybis received the news of Russian-Belarusian invasion of Ukraine with shock and strongly condemns such barbaric activities. More about our opinion on this was discussed here.

Today, we want to discuss how the crypto community can support Ukraine – the largest European country – during these unprecedented times. We encourage you to consider at least one way of supporting one of the most heroic nations out there.

1. Direct donations to crypto wallets of Ukrainian army

Ukrainian Minister of Digital Transformation – Mykhailo Fedorov – has urged the crypto community to contribute by donating to the wallets of Ukrainian Armed forces. The funds will be used for purchase of helmets, protective vests, and other equipment for the needs of the military.

You can buy BTC or any other cryptocurrency above with Paybis directly to the wallet of Ukrainian Armed Forces.

2. Sharing information on the latest events with your network

The war goes on multiple fronts – literally and figuratively. The thing is that the Russian government holds control over most of Russian media – including TV channels, press, and social media channels. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to share the truth of what is happening. Find information on the events from free press – and spread it to your network. A simple “share on Facebook” or “Send via DM” can be of help – and save someone’s life.

3. Join protests in your city

The whole democratic world stands by Ukraine, terrified by the bloody conflict unfolding in the center of Europe. Hundreds of protests are organized every day to show solidarity and support to Ukrainian people. Most of the protests are held in front of either the Russian or Ukrainian embassy. Check social media (such as Facebook) to see whether there is one in your city.

4. Donate to humanitarian organizations

With thousands of people losing their property & being forced to relocate – they need humanitarian support. Hygiene items, food, clothing, sleeping bags – all of these can help. Contact non-profit organizations or NGOs in your city and ask if they are organizing donation centers for Ukrainians. Even a small contribution matters.

Of course, the list is not exhaustive, and we will continue updating it as more information comes in. If you have any suggestions – please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

Glory to Ukraine! Stay safe everyone!
